Almost famous

We were watching the mandarin news the other night because our friends were being interviewed about the bilingual program. They interviewed really well and it was fantastic promotion for the program. At one point in the segment they showed footage from last year's Provincials at Confucius Institute and we saw Mika on the stage. It was super fun to randomly see my kid on TV, even if just for a moment. Mika loved it too - obviously.

Declan and his hockey team, the Hawks Init. 1A, participated in the Honour Guard at tonight's Oil Kings game. He and the other kids stood on the ice as the nat'l anthem was sung. Again, super fun! Oil Kings won 3-2 over Moose Jaw - w00t! :)

Mika accepted an offer for a role as Lead Irish Dancer in the school musical, Titanic. She is to choreograph her own solo number after which she is joined by the rest of the dance team for a number. No pressure, eh? We're not sure what she will come up with as she has no experience with Irish dance or jigging in general. Mika is really excited to work out some moves though - we shall ask her ballet/hip-hop teacher for advice to round it out.
